This is a fascinating discussion on the intersection of nurture and nature and how, according to Christakis, we are all genetically “pre-wired” to love, to seek friendship, to cooperate and to learn from each other. Nicholas Christakis is a physician, sociologist and trained statistician.

I’ve not read Blueprint, but the subject matter — particularly the study of gene-culture coevolution — reminds me of a different book I read years ago by another physician titled The Lives of a Cell. In that book, Lewis Thomas ponders our biological interconnectedness and how we humans, all the way down to the cellular level, are essentially a social species. ⚛︎
