Has the US Gone Completely Mad?

Okay, I'm officially scared. Donald now has a double-digit lead in South Carolina. It seems Hillary has too many vulnerabilities and is not popular with young voters. She is perceived as untrustworthy by most Americans and is not particularly aspirational or even likable. I'm starting to think Trump could actually win this thing. This is a frightening prospect.

The only thing more frightening is the group-think invective and now violence (yes, violence) emanating from the growing ranks of Trump supporters. The fact that support for Trump is increasing among evangelical voters is especially troubling. What is it about an amoral, mean-spirited narcissist with a half-baked policy agenda that would make him appealing to a professing Christian?
Trump's biggest claims to fame before this election campaign were his casinos, strip clubs, shady business ventures (see Trump University), a trashy reality TV show, high-profile divorce proceedings (including abuse and rape allegations), high-profile bankruptcy proceedings (six, to be exact), his garish lifestyle (replete with gold-plated helicopters, yachts and private jets), and bad hair.
Since when does any of this resemble the life and teachings of Jesus Christ? And don't be fooled by Trump's shameless pandering with his "Two Corinthians" and other fake Bible quotes. True men and women of faith should be deeply insulted by this man's patronizing attempts to align himself with Christians.
Has the U.S. gone completely mad, or does the groundswell of Trump support merely provide a frightening window into the true heart and soul of America? ☕︎
