Identity Politics Gone Awry

As a Navy veteran whose active-duty service earned me a Cold War Recognition Certificate for “promoting peace and stability for this nation,” I find this photo particularly baffling. These guys were the same people hollering “better dead than red” during the Vietnam War. Sadly, this sums up all too well the dangers of identity politics, and just how divided we've become as a nation. ☮︎
